Urgent Message – Wake Boat Legislation

I’m writing to share my concerns regarding ongoing legislative efforts related to wake boat regulation. Many constituents are frustrated by proposals that appear to move forward without fully addressing environmental impacts or local input.

Available research and scientific studies suggest that setbacks of at least 500 feet are necessary to reduce shoreline and ecological damage. This is an issue that directly affects our lakes and communities, and it is important that local stakeholders have the ability to represent and protect their own interests.

I respectfully ask that you prioritize evidence-based policy and the needs of the communities you serve as you consider this legislation. Our lake association is submitting formal comments on the proposal that was voted on in June.

Thank you for your time and attention to this issue.
